Back To Basics At Intermix

The economic crisis has driven brands back to fashion basics. The dress shirts, the tees and cardigans are back in the game and this time they come in very wearable colors and soft materials. This season is about buying undated items that make you feel stylish and comfortable. These pieces are all from Intermix. The white shirt is from Haute Hippie, the tunic tee is by Splendid, the blue striped dress shirt is from Elizabeth and James and finally the striped cardigan is from Golde. Check out these and more  here.

Navy And Gold Theme

Net-A-Porter has a new shipment of designer goods ready for you to buy them. There was a common theme among the new arrivals, Navy and Gold. Trust me this is the new color combination, I think these items are a a great example of this season strongest color combination. The two navy accessories on the left are made by Isabel Marant, the gold necklace is by Marc Jacobs and the dress is by Rachel Gilbert. Love them? click here to learn more.

Loeffler Randall

Here are my two favorite pieces from Loeffler Randall’s Spring 2009 collection. Biker inspired jackets are still a strong trend, this one uses silver zippers to highlight the style. Jumpers are just starting to pick up as a style. I love women in jumpers but be sure to try them out before you buy them, not all jumpers are for everyone. This Loeffler Randall jumper has a boned bodice, side pockets and a leather belt, I haven’t seen it in person but this looks like a winner in my book. Check these and more of Loeffler Randall here.

Rachel Pally

Spring 2010 is just around the corner, so if you are not ready for swimsuit shopping yet at least you can check out the new line from Rachel Pally. Here are my favorite one but I recommend you visit her website here for more dresses and tops. Enjoy!

Quick Notes: ,

Lauren Kovin

I came across Lauren Kovin this week  and wanted to share her work with you. These pictures are not from her latest collection but I still found them really creative and exciting. These are pieces from her 2009 Spring Summer collection. They are made with lightweight fabrics and can be worn differently depending on your style. The one on the top has extra long sleeves that can be rolled up and wrapped around  the body to give it an unique and more stylish look. The blue dress on the bottom is also a pretty piece with a front pocket and an open back. I like the way the fabric gathers and falls on the body, the colors are really captivating. All these beautiful pictures are by Julie Miller. For more info on Lauren’s line click here.

Mcqueen’s Pre-Fall 2010 collection

This is a sneak pick at Alexander Mcqueen’s Pre-Fall 2010 collection. As you all may know Mcqueen past away on February 11th this year and with his loss he left behind yet again another amazing line that we can all cherish. Alexander Mcqueen was an icon of British fashion. His runway shows were alway highly anticipated and always out of the box. He had a incredible view of the future and always showed us his best work without a care in the world for what other people would think. We will all miss him greatly.

Toast

Toast is a brand that designs apparel, accessories, home goods and footwear. Everything has a consistent timeless look with a spring look. These are all pieces that you can wear for years to come without looking outdated. Look at their leather bags, they are simple, functional are really versatile. Their coats and shirts are beautiful, I like the small details such as the cuffs and the length of the shirt. Check their online store here.

The Wolf Man Movie

I watched The Wolf Man this past weekend and I couldn’t get over their choice of wardrobe and location. The colors, landscapes and fashion are just beautiful. Every scene was filled with history and a nostalgic touch. I thought the movie was good but what kept my attention were their menswear and stunning backdrops. If you are a fashion junky, you should watch this movie. Here is the trailer for your enjoyment.

Green Cube. Laguna Beach, California.

Green Cube is a store for those looking for chic ways to be sustainable. This place in in the heart of Downtown Laguna Beach and has everything from furniture to clothing to wall decor. The store feels rustic and very artistic. I liked the way everything was carefully selected and they store is not clutter with product. Everything in the store is an art piece and I’m sure there is a perfect home for each one.

The 11th Moon. Laguna Beach, CA

The 11th Moon is a really charming women’s boutique in Laguna Beach. The selection of brands have a few things in common, good quality, comfortable fits and timeless designs. The 11th Moon is the type of store you go to find your favorite t-shirt,  sweater or accessory, that piece of clothing you will wear forever and only gets better with time.

When I went in the store I was greeted by Gillian, who was one of the nicest persons I’ve met that day. We talked about the brands she carries and how important quality standards are to her store and costumers. I love that they stand behind the smaller brands, they support their work and are proud of it. This store is not only a beautiful place to shop but also a place where you learn about other designers doing beautiful work.

The store is located 1259 S Coast Hwy, Laguna Beach, CA. I’ll keep you posted when their website is up and running, their selection of brands is not to be missed.
